First 5 San Luis Obispo County believes all children deserve
access to quality health. On March 27th, 2003 First 5 San Luis Obispo
County brought together more than 100 community leaders and organizations
to begin a dialogue and discuss ways to improve the quality of health
care throughout San Luis Obispo County.
Because First 5 San Luis Obispo County’s focus is on children
ages 0 to 5, the health care initiative would mean our children
can grow up to become healthy, productive members of society. These
children – who will someday be our leaders, our doctors, our
police and our small business owners – will be given the healthy
start they deserve.
As an organization it would be unconscionable for First 5 San Luis
Obispo County to ignore this nationwide healthcare crisis that is
knocking on our back door and affecting more than 3,000 children
in our county.
