Communications and Outreach Officer - Part Time

First 5 San Luis Obispo County is currently recruiting for a Communications and Outreach Officer. The position is part-time (50%). First 5 San Luis Obispo County is an at-will employer and this position serves under the supervision of the Executive Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional-level support to the Executive Director and the Commission to plan, coordinate and oversee the Commission's communications, media relations, social media campaigns, public education and advocacy activities to further its mission; and to help educate parents, caregivers, the general community and local leaders about the Commission's programs. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in English, journalism, marketing, communication, public relations/policy, or a related field. A Master's degree is desirable. Bilingual skills are desirable.

Compensation

The annual (full-time) compensation range for the position is $48,630 - $62,054. (This is a part-time, 20 hours/week position with a salary range of $24,315 - $31,027.) First 5 San Luis Obispo County has a generous benefit package including health, dental, vision, retirement, and an optional deferred compensation program.
