First 5 SLO County Seeks Letters of Interest (LOI) to Possibly Lead the Family-Friendly Workplaces Program

The FFWP is a free, countywide initiative that helps local businesses adopt practices that support working families. Since 2021, the program, led by SLO Chamber of Commerce, has completed over 330 workplace assessments and recognized more than 260 organizations and businesses for their family-friendly efforts. With the SLO Chamber stepping away from its lead role, we’re inviting community organizations or businesses to submit a Letter of Interest to possibly take on this important work.

Details:

Funding: $75,000/year (1-year contract with potential for 2 more)

ABOUT FIRST 5 GRANTS

As guided by the Strategic Plan, First 5 SLO County oversees multi-year grants with local providers to build needed services and supports for young children and families. First 5 funding is primarily focused on the three Priority Areas that form the framework for the Strategic Plan:

Early Health Foundations: Promoting young children’s wellness and access to quality care.
Early Learning & Child Care: Ensuring that from birth, children have rich and varied opportunities to develop their minds.
Parent Engagement, Connection & Education: Supporting parents and families to build stable, nurturing and enriching home environments for young children.

We award program funding through a Request for Proposal or Request for Qualifications process. We also work with contractors when there are specific community needs. Please check back for future grant funding opportunities!
