Hands-On Heroes

Hands-On Heroes is a special recognition of dedicated individuals who embody the ideals outlined in the Children’s Bill of Rights for San Luis Obispo County, an aspirational framework endorsed by more than 50 local agencies since its creation in 2013. (Click here to learn more about the Rights)

First 5 SLO County and partner organizations began hosting the annual Hands-on Heroes Program back in 2010, to honor people who make a positive difference in the lives of our children and youth. Winners are now selected monthly, and featured in the SLO Journal Plus magazine as well as on County Office of Education (COE) TV Channels 2 & 19.
