WHO WE ARE:

First 5 San Luis Obispo County is a public agency responsible for allocating approximately $1.4 million dollars per year in state funding (Proposition 10/Tobacco Tax) toward community investments in system improvements and quality services that support the health and early development of children prenatal to age 5. First 5 San Luis Obispo County has a staff of between four and six people, and is governed by a nine-member Commission.

COMMISSIONER ROLE:

The Commission typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month in January, March, May, June, September, October and the first Wednesday of the month in December. Times are 3:00-5:30 pm and locations may vary throughout the county. Commissioners may be required to attend additional meetings, including but not limited to strategic planning, the assessment of community needs and grant proposal review.

The term of service for this Commissioner seat is four years, from August 2019 to July 2023, with an opportunity to reapply for successive terms.
